Portfolio or Website Redesign Initiative? I spent a lot of time thinking about this and at first thought I could do both but now I am not so sure. I really need to create a portfolio to sell myself to prospective employers so maybe I'll start with that and take it from there? Ah I'm too indecisive. I think I definitely need a portfolio and maybe try and add in the website redesign idea.
- Create a portfolio page.
- Completely redesign Buttercooky's Bakery website and create an online order form.
Portfolio - This will showcase my work in this class as well as work from previous classes and that will help promote my developing skills for a job in this field
Website Redesign - This will also showcase my skills but it is also an opportunity to help promote their bakery online more efficiently.
Portfolio - Beyond the scope of this class - my classmates and professor I'm primarily targeting prospective employers with this idea.
Website Redesign - The same target audience for my portfolio idea with the addition of customers and prospective customer for the bakery.
Portfolio - Continually add onto this website with my assignments and also add previous works from my other classes when I have some time on the weekends.
This should be about 12-20 pages:
Website Redesign - Also continually add onto this with my assignments - basically incorporate what I learn but take it to another level by reaching out to the bakery to add more content.
This should be about 10-20 pages:
Portfolio - I think this is doable and might be the best approach considering my time constraints.
Website Redesign - Too ambitious? Might be an issue reaching out and spending time with the bakery to get a better feel for the design and content. I will be doing a simple mock up with some of my own ideas for the CRAP badge.
Please let me know which idea you think I should pursue. I am not sure that I can do both and right now really leaning towards the Portfolio.
